The project for treating underprivileged patients involves high-cost and high-technology medical procedures.

This is a project that supports underprivileged patients suffering from diseases that require high-cost treatments and advanced medical technologies (High Cost High Technology), which are often inaccessible to the general public. These patients are unable to afford the necessary medical expenses. The objective is to increase their chances of survival and improve their quality of life. Many of the patients suffer from more than one condition and require timely and urgent treatment.

The Siriraj Foundation has initiated the creation of commemorative coins bearing the image of Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi) to invite devout Buddhists to make donations in exchange for the coins as a symbol of good fortune and spiritual strength. Proceeds from the donations will go toward the fund for underprivileged patients requiring high-cost treatments and advanced medical technologies. This initiative is dedicated as a royal merit-making offering in honor of the 70th birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi) commemorative coins were created in two designs. The first is a gold coin made of 96.5% pure gold, with a total of 200 coins available for donation at 200,000 THB each. The second is a stainless steel coin featuring a golden Buddha image, with 70,000 coins available for donation at 2,000 THB each.
