A good quality window film with features such as % of heat rejection, % of UV protection, % VLR (Visible light rejected) and % VLT (Visible light transmission) need to be a standard number from the reliable supplier and followed AIMCAL (ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL METALLIZERS COATERS AND LAMINATORS), ASTM (AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS) and ASHRAE, not just some published articles or advertisement without any references

2. Manufacturer standard
You need to consider that the film must have a clear source, importing from the manufacturer with widely accepted international standard on a clear location. At present, there are the films manufactured under ISO 9001 standard factory which control the quality, design, development, manufacturing, installation and service and that the manufacturer will give a copy certificate of ISO 9001 standard guarantee to the importer/ distributor which the consumer can ask for checking
 
3. The distributor in Thailand
Should be a serious and trustworthy company with long experience in window film industry, without ad fraud or brand changing before
Along with reliable quality assurance, normally the warranty will not be less than 7 years and will be ended up once changing the name of the car owner. Therefore, the consumer need to select the distributor which you can be confident that the company will still continue to do a window film business and always be responsible if any problems occurred. Another point is that they need to be officially authorized by the manufacturer to be a distributor in Thailand which you can also check it from the authorized dealer book
 
4. Price
Reasonable price along with suitable quality like metal coating film eg. Sputtered and thermal will be more expensive than normal color coated film around 1-2 times
 
5. Advertisement
The consumer should consider the advertisement carefully before selecting any window films, beware some ad fraud

Particularly, the % of heat reduction and other features of the film which the correct % of heat reduction should be from the sunlight besides, you should consider how you test the film quality whether it is reliable or not e.g. you should not test it under spotlight or infrared bulb, no matter you cover it with your hand or standing in the middle of it due to that in reality, you will drive under sunlight not only the spotlight or infrared which come from totally different primary sources and sometimes, there is a case that the installed films are different kind or has 2 layers installation which, for these points, the consumer all need to be careful

Window film warranty
Techno-Sell (Frey) Co.,Ltd., the only importer and distributor of “Lamina” automotive window film in Thailand. We certify the quality of our window films to maintain its quality without peeling, cracking, crazing, blistering, and bubbling within the period of 7 years except, L60 MAX SPECIAL series will be warrantied within 5 years from the date of film installation. In case, the product is damaged within warranty period, your film installer/seller shall replace/reinstall the films as per below conditions:

Within the period of 3 years after installation, there will be no extra charge for replacement but if the car owner is maintained under other dealer apart from the name shown on the warranty card, there will be charge occurred as suitable and after 3 years, the car owner himself need to be responsible for reinstallation fee. Nevertheless, the company will be liable only in case, if the film quality is defective

Exclusions from warranty:

• The damage from scratch, polish, peel which is not caused from the installer
• Peeling or damage intentionally  
• Misuse or improper maintenance e.g. Installation of any gadgets with vacuum base on the glass 
• The warranty will be effective only for the person whose name shown on the warranty card 
• Glass breakage
• In case damage arising from custom use out of a course of capable or incapable of using , the seller will not be liable for any loss or damage whether direct , indirect or incidental regardless of the legal theory asserted , including warranty, contract, negligence or strict liability 
• Problem caused from film installation, the installer need to be responsible 
• More than 2 films applied into the same pane

Quality checking on Car window film installation

• Able to check immediately after installation, anyway the moisture, haze, condensation or distorted picture in the first 1-4 weeks is counted as normal because the film is still not fully adhere
• Watching the view outside directly from inside under natural light without attention to stare directly into the window 
• 5 cm from the edge may have some dust and next to another 5 cm is still acceptable if it is not clear to be seen
• Dust, insect, fiber, hair, fingerprint, peeling, bubbling, cracking, scratching, torn mark              
• L80BL Special, L75 Special, L65 Special, L40 Digital Ceramatrix, L30 Digital Ceramatrix, L15 Digital Ceramatrix and L05 Digital Ceramatrix  (Digital Friendly Films) are models that can be installed on the window and will not block any digital signals or affect the efficiency of GPS, ADAS and Easy Pass to be reduced

8. Film installation may interfere or obstruct your GPS signal or navigator (if any) 
9. Metalized window tint film can cause watermark at the front windscreen once driving pass the yellow light and will be disappeared when driving out which you will find it in 3 main areas at Bangkok which are under the Vibhavadi-Rangsit highway ( inbound & outbound ) , North park underpass (Laksi) and Central Pinklao & Pata Pinklao area under Boromratchachonnani elevated highway. In this case, the company will not accept the return or exchange


Things you need to know after film installation
Film maintenance after installation 

1. Normally the film installation need to use mild soap and water solution or film-on to spray over the glue side of the film and the window to adhere the film in place then, use a squeegee to stroke-dry the glass, after installation you may find some haze or condensation which will be fully vanished after 1-4 weeks except L60 Max Special model will be cured within 4-6 weeks after the film is dry and the glue is fully adhered. Therefore, you should not roll the window during the first 7 days after film installation to avoid film peeling off

2. Do not wipe or use glass cleaner inside the car during the first 21 days after installation 

3. Only use clean soft cloth with clean water to wipe the glass after installation

4. Do not wipe or clean inside the car by using the same towel for the car body, cushion or other parts because it may contain some chemicals which can damage the film surface by causing the scratch or peeling off. Under such conditions, the warranty will be excluded

5. Do not wipe with cold cloth, bristle brush of scotch-brite or other tools that can damage the film surface 

6. Ammonia based cleaner or other strong cleaning products should be avoided because the glue will be worn out, only clean water shall be used

7. The film’s edge will be seen if the glass is super curved and may be found more than 1 place in some models

8. After 1-7 days of installation, if you find some bubble but not moisture, please take your car to the station for immediate checking
