How to check real ceramic film by yourself even if you are not a technician
1. Real ceramic film …less shiny
Because ceramic is carbon (non-metallic) thus, there is not appeared shiny feature and VLR value is less (not above 8%). If the film you are going to buy has VLR percentage more than this and it looked so glossy like glass, you may assume it as a fake one.

2. Real ceramic film…clear visibility, dark outside/bright inside
From outside color it may looked all dark but the truth is not at all! a real ceramic film will provide clear visibility all the time, at day it will be clear, not dim like the sky get coating in black (or to make it feel like cloudy all the time) and during the night or when you are under indoor parking, a fake ceramic film will give you dark visibility causing your driving in the trouble, some people need to use high-beam headlights all the time or when reverse parking must lower down the window to check on side windows. If your current ceramic film has this issue, you can assume it as a fake film.
3. Real ceramic film…pass through every digital signals

- If it is good in heat rejection but your digital signal get disrupted, you may assume you have got some good protection metallized film which claims itself as a ceramic film!
4. Real ceramic film…durable
Real ceramic film will have a life expectancy for about 7 years because during manufacturing process, they will charge ceramic particles in atomic level causing the ceramic molecules to fuse into the film material at nano level. Thus, making ceramic layer align on the film evenly and last-long, not only stay by 1-2 years then color fade away without heat and UV absorption so that once using make you feel burn.บ

Cautions of fake ceramic film
Now, you have seen the benefits of true ceramic film but how to do if we unfortunately install fake ceramic film then? What are the disadvantages? What thing we need to beware, let’s check it out!
Note: Fake ceramic film here is black coating or general black window film which low cost but pretending it is ceramic film and got sold in a market at premium price like real ceramic film though it cannot reject heat well compared to the money people paid for it because mostly they advertise high IR% (Infrared rejection) (maybe more than 90%) while TSER% (Total solar energy rejected) may be very low so that the customer waste too much money more that the quality they actually got.
- Dark both in and out, poor visibility
- Unstable signal (in case you got fake metallized film, the clear example for people who always use express way is Easy pass censor area, once the car drive pass, the Easy pass cannot detect and thus cannot deduct the money).
- Short lifetime especially, general black window film normally only last not more than 1 year, it will gradually faded and turn purple, low heat rejection unlike real ceramic film which is more durable, no fade , no rust with 7 years lifetime.
